Samoan Language Week

When I was entering the hall I saw parents and visitors sitting down. Across the stage was a sign that said Taufau Mao I au Masuc. There was lots of diffrent people that we haven’t seen before It was cool because we got to sing a Samoa National  anthem. When we finished singing a girl said a karakia in samoan then the boy done it and they done it proudly.  And the Minister of emp launched stuff to some of the samoan people.

Later ago some of the kindy students came into perform a Samoan dance because the new that it was Samoan Language week. They were funny because some of them were not singing after they finished their performance our school done there samoan dance. When they were dancing they were doing it for there Coulter. Then the TC students came to the stage and they done a cool performance and they done it at the Polyfest.

Then the Minister  came and said some Samoan words and he done his one about Tiaki Taonga. He was talking for long because he has new us for lots of years in Mr burts life because his son was in His class. His name was sam and he is just like a king of samoa. Sams friend is like his brother because his is the man because he is like sam.

After that we all prayed for god and we got to hear all of it that sam said. And he said it for himself because he knew that we good do stuff good when we a growing up and sensibil to all of our whanau. When we finished praying we felt that all of our school good be a Samoan person. Then Mr Burt came and said thank you to all of the people that came to our school and the mums and dads then we had finished but we all still had Samoan week.

Eastern Zone Tournement

Last week on Monday we had a rugby tournament for, unders and overs, we had to go to  the hall and get ready. Once all of the boys were finished Miss Va'afusuaga  checked to see if we had our rugby boots and mouthguard then all of us went some people went in a car and our pt england truck. When we were driving we had to put on our seatbelts It was at dunkirk reserve when we got there we saw different schools.

This rugby tournament goes every year so some of the same people that we challenge often come again. In our first game I was sub the my coach mazel told me to go in and we challenged glen taylor and the game was 20 mins and we stopped and had a drink when it was half time. Till the guy came out we had 10 sec and we scored the last try for the game and we won we went to go and shake hands.

We had our last game for the day and our final game was balie road we had just had finished competing against them but they were in the finals. We were so tired some of the boys were not running and some of them had to go to the toilet but we still played hard. We just need 2 more trys so we could win and go to the championships tournament our coach was saying lots of things to support our school then we won.

Fundrasing For Tower

Every morning We have a literacy group and we are learning about sky towerers. We improve our writing by adding vocab and complex sentences. We could be going and washing cars in a couple of weeks, at lunch time and after school.

We are fundraising for our group to go up to the sky tower and we need transport. We are going at the end of the term.  

The Buildings

In the holidays construction began for the new team 4 block. They cleared the site first by taking   away the old buildings and the little kids playground. This week they started constructing the concrete blocks for the foundations to make it strong and sturdy. Next they are reinforcing the concrete with the steel reinforcement.  They lay it down so it gets covered with the concrete for the concrete slab.

Sound

A world without sound would be strange and silent. We wouldn't be able to enjoy music and people would find it difficult to communicate. It would be boring. Sound helps us in many different ways, but what is sound?

Sound is like when you drop a rock into a puddle and the ripples go in all directions. When an object vibrates and then the sound molecules move and go into your ear.  When the air molecules moves into your ears  then the ear drum starts vibrating. It makes electrical signals to your brain. This tell your brain what the sound is.

How is sound different? When a sound wave vibrates fast it has got a high pitch. When a sound wave vibrates slowly it has a low pitch. How fast a sound wave vibrates is called its frequency. Frequency is measured in Herz.
